Located adjacent to downtown Milwaukee, the Historic Third Ward spans over a 60 block area within the bounds of I-794 East to North, and the Milwaukee River from West to South. This district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since it is Milwaukee's oldest center of commerce and warehousing. In 1892, 440 Third Ward buildings were destroyed by fire. After 36 years of reconstruction and design, now 440 retail and professional services are thriving in this community. |
